Each section of Digital Studies 101 at UMW is a little different. They all explore the interplay between technology and human culture, but this section does so through the practice of digital creation. Throughout the semester, you will create various kinds of digital projects, including:
- Websites
- Graphics
- Podcasts
- Videos
- Data Visualizations
- Interactive Fiction Stories
In all these projects, you will practice communicating effectively using digital media, verifying the accuracy of information you share, and publishing your projects in an accessible format on the web.
For the final project, you will create a website that combines several aspects of digital creation to showcase the online identity you wish to show the world, or to showcase a specific project you’ve created (like a video or podcast series).
