Openness

Why is this important?

Helping others, getting advice, and constructive criticism are all reasons openness on the internet matters. You don’t have to face the world alone.

How

Eliminate paywalls; don’t make me give up my email; allow users to have open access without giving up personal information unless you have something really valuable to offer; and even then, don’t be stingy- don’t be that person.

Accessibility

Why?

16% of the population is why! That’s a lot of people who could be missing out on what you’re offering. Are you offering knowledge, a podcast, a product? That’s a lot of potential lost revenue. The why really relates to who you want to see your site.

How

Use smart design elements and guidelines for making your site accessible; use alt text for images, and when including a link, give it a description so there’s a clue where it goes.
