For my final project I will build a new domain on my website. I want to continue with the video I made and make it into a series. My first episode was about Weight Lifting Benefits and my second episode will continue with the same subject regarding exercise.
UMW Grade Distribution Data Report

2021-2022 Grade Distribution Summary
Story From the Data
I chose to use the data to show the amount of F’s given in each class at UMW. I picked the spring semester of 2021 because that was the semester I transferred here. From the graph above it tells us that the class that gave the most F’s overall was PSYC which is Psychology. During the 2021 spring semester there were 56 F’s given in that class. The conclusion that can be drawn, is that Psychology was the hardest class during this specific semester.
Process of Creating the Data
The process of creating the graph started with picking a distribution summary off of the UMW website. I then downloaded it into excel to convert into a pivot table. I converted the orginal table into a pivot table. I set my first column as “Courses” and then I set the second one as “Sum of F #.” I converted the table then into a column graph to show the data visually. Finally, I added in a title and my x and y axis names to clairfy the data being shown.
My Video Project
Strength Training Benefits for Women YouTube Video
Subject of my Video
I used the same subject from my podcast project. I created a video about the benefits of strength training for women. I knew that I would have easy access to creating a video in a gym highlighting common strength exercises.
Process of Creating my Video
I recorded all of my content using the camera app on my iPhone 11. I uploaded all of my clips to my laptop and uploaded them into Canva. I edited my videos together and then used my already recorded podcast to do the voice over. I then found a royalty-free music track to add as the background music to the video and voice over. I found my royalty-free music off of Pixabay. The track was created by Yrii Semchyshyn. I finally uploaded my video to YouTube and created accurate subtitles to ensure accessibility.

Hello and welcome to my podcast. I’m Brenna, and today we’ll be talking about the benefits of strength training for women.
Not only does lifting weights improve your strength, increase your muscle mass and your physique, there are also many other benefits that are not usually talked about. First of all, it enhances bone health and supports bone density. Secondly, it also improves your cardiovascular health and enhances blood circulation while exercising. It also increases joint stability and flexibility by supporting the joints with increased muscle mass and increasing your range of motion. It also reduces stress and improves many people’s mental health by releasing a natural hormone called endorphins that can alleviate pain, lower stress and improve your mood.
Thank you for tuning into this week’s episode! I hope you enjoyed!
My Mini Podcast
Subject of my Podcast
The subject of my podcast is the benefits of strength training for women. One of the most important parts of my life is exercise and finding different ways to be active. I love strength training and know that is an area I have a lot of knowledge about. Many people do not know all benefits that come with lifting weights.
Process of Creating my Podcast
I recorded my podcast using an audio kit from the HCC. I used the H1n Handy Recorder to record my audio and then I used a USB cord to upload the file onto my computer. I used SoundTrap to edit, split, and add music onto my audio recording. I have never used an audio kit before so it took awhile to figure out all of the different equipment that came with the kit. I also found my royalty-free audio on Pixabay. I used music by FASSounds.
Information Support
The information I used came from Women’s Health Magazine. I used the article, 8 Benefits of Strength That’ll Convince You To Try It . The Women’s Health Magazine is a well-known and trusted source of information for lifestyle, health, nutrition, and exercise. The magazine includes science-backed information for women. I found trustworthy information regarding Women’s Health Magazine on the Invisibly website.

My Images & The Process
The Site Icon Image
Why I created it
I created my site icon using my initials. I wanted to keep my icon simple and personable to me. My initials are “BLC” and I decided to use a very light pink background in order to contrast my dark colored initials.
How I created it
I used Vectr to create my site icon, which was introduced to me in class. It was very easy to use and I was able to export the icon in different files, including the PNG and the JPEG needed for this assignment.

The Header Image
Why I created it
I created my header image using the color palette I used prior to this project. I wanted to keep the same type of aesthetic using warm colors. I also love coffee so I wanted to still incorporate a decorative coffee mug into the header image of my website.
How I made it
I used the website, Canva to create my header image. I have used Canva quite a bit, therefore it was easy to use. I created my own color scheme and used the elements to insert the stars. I found a royalty-free image of a coffee with latte art with a transparent background off of Pixabay.

My Copyright License and Royalty-Free Images
Copyright License
At the bottom of my website you can find my copyright license. My license that I chose is CC BY-NC 4.0. This license gives people the ability to use my work to remix, adapt, or to build upon it, but they must give me proper attribution. I chose this license also because I do not want my work to be used for commercial purposes. I want people to be able to use pieces or ideas of my work to create something new, but I want to be given credit for the work I create.
Royalty-Free Images
The images I picked to use on my website are from Pexels. I picked two images I thought went well together and matched the aesthetic. I picked an image of books on a shelf for my header image, and my site icon is a cup of coffee. I mainly picked my site icon as a cup of coffee because coffee is one of my favorite things!

Welcome to my Domain!
The name of my domain is my name, Brenna Campbell. I picked this because I wanted to be simple by using my full name, and fortunately it was available! The name of my blogging platform for the class is “Brenna’s Digital Hub.” While I do sometimes lack in the creativity department, I picked this name because this is where my work will be located and the center for the rest of the digital studies class.
